You are welcome. I love your site and will go back to read more once I get my Scottish book launched next week! I post blogs here that I want to return to so they don’t get lost:)
My own festival! It’s Book 2 in my Hollystone Mysteries series: To Sleep with Stones.
To sleep with stones can reveal history…or get you jailed for murder. When a renegade archaeologist discovers an ancient Egyptian artifact in Scotland, Dylan McBride’s world turns upside down. When Dylan touches the standing stones, they show him visions. On Summer Solstice, he falls asleep and a man is murdered nearby–a man he just fought with at a local pub.
Imprisoned for murder, he summons his friend, the Wicca Priest, Estrada, to solve the crime and set him free. Meanwhile, feeling abandoned in Canada, Michael Stryker discovers that playing vampire can suck the life out of you. Witches, faeries, and vampires conjoin with the Old Celtic gods in this edgy urban fantasy.
I love Argyll; especially Tarbert and Kilmartin Glen where it’s set. I visited most of the sites in the book.
Excellent – sounds highly entertaining. I wrote a series of blogs about the Sighthill stones in north Glasgow. They were unusual in that it was a modern stone circle in an inner city park. I used the stones to write a slightly madcap alternative vision of Glasgow based around ancient curses, inner city Druids and a hospital gone mad. It was a lot of fun. Standing stones clearly inspire writing. Sadly the Sighthill stones are no longer there as they were moved for development but I think they are going to erect them again somewhere. I’ve not been to the Kilmartin Glen but have heard it’s a lovely area and fascinating if you like ancient monuments.
